For two decades the Trust for Museum Exhibitions has served as a coordinator for consortium projects between museums, and has assisted institutions in circulating their own collections. The Trust for Museum Exhibitions has formed partnerships with more than 619 museums, cultural institutions, and private collections world wide to ensure that important objects, significant ideas, distinctive presentations and cost effective planning result in highly successful exhibitions.
Currently the Trust for Museum Exhibitions is involved collaboratively in over three-dozen exhibitions, either on tour or in development in the United States and abroad. In 2006, the Trust entered into a parternship with Arte Assicionazioni, Rome Italy to bring exhibitions from Italy to American Museums.
As a non-profit organization, the Trust for Museum Exhibitions welcomes and relies on grant and contributions from foundations, corporations, and individuals. Revenue from exhibition rental fees and catalogue sales represent only part of the Trust for Museum Exhibitions costs to produce exhibitions and such generosity makes it possible to accomplish the mission of the Trust for Museum Exhibitions.
